Not many Delene’s in the world…..Hello from Indiana USA.

How did you get your name??

  • Delene

I do not know why my mother chose Delene. I think is from Magdalen in the bible. Dalene is South Africa is common but my mother decided on Delene.

Unfortunately I am not going to sing Delene’s praises. Actually I am going to do quite the opposite. Recently we dealt with her in a property deal, which went horribly sour.

We found her unprofessional, underhanded and quite frankly, rude.

  • Delene

Chris, I am sorry that the owner chose another tenant. I always intend to give the best possible service but, in this case, I was unable to cancel the appointment because I could not find your contact number. Again, I offer my sincere apologies.

With respect ,I have to totally disagree with your rather “sour” blog. We have worked with Delene for many years and she has always been the perfect lady and very professional. She is also highly valued and greatly acknowledged amongst estate agents and related fields

  • Sheena

Delene, thankyou for the many times you have assisted us in finding suitable tenants. You have always been efficient and courteous and I might say successful where others have failed !

Great blog page, Delene. Good on you for your hard work. Your professionalism shines through. One day I will buy a place in Kalk Bay but my wife is not entirely enthused preferring to invest in Australia (where we live). But my family (the Calders) have a long history of living in Kalk Bay.

Well – now off for a swim and run along our beach next to our home here in Perth.

Steve, I know of Calders Kings Hotel which was burnt and rebuilt as New Kings. I have sold apartments in this building as part of marketing THE MAJESTIC.
Today it was too cool for my regular pool swim at 7.30 so I swam at Danger Beach at noon. No wind and lovely water. Very few blue bottles this year.

Delene – woo hoo! well done on your blog. Fantastic!
Can’t wait to come back and spend some more time in St James, we miss it!
All going well at Gorongosa – having a great year.
    See you soon,
    Rob & Jos

  • Delene

Jos, Thank you so much for your message. I am relieved to know that you are having a great year.
Cycling to Cape Point this morning was sunny and wind free but icy cold!!!

There is always a bed in St James for you.

You’ve been rather quiet of recent, dear Delene ?

Presumably property is still relatively quiet in the region. I had a happy climb up Table Mountain with my 16yo daughter on a quick trip from Perth for a few days in Cape Town last week. I meant to make it across to Kalk Bay but no go….you can see my favourite picture of the Brass Bell backgrop at Kalk Bay on my blog site

I am sure my blog site is of minimal interest to you (urghhh..engineering ! – my passion) but I am lucky to have a bunch of engineer subscribers from around the world who are courteous to read (occasionally). 150,000 odd, I like to think. But then…

Keep your wonderful site going forever more.

    • Delene

I am sorry you did not make it to Kalk Bay. I love that table at the Brass Bell. My daughter and I shall dine there this week. Thanks for your kind comments about my blog. I am delighted to keep on posting about this paradise.

My late husband was an engineer and he would have appreciated your blog, as will my civil engineering daughters-in-law when I pass them the link.

  • Steve Mackay

    Dear Delene

Thanks for your kind words. I am delighted that your husband had a penchant for the darker side – i.e. engineering ! But it is a marvellously interesting profession creating things. But then naturally, as long has one has passion for what one does, that is all that matters…

I love your pictures of the St James pool. I remember this well as a 5yo to 12yo swimming with school buddies and parents.

Anyway now down for sundowners on City Beach a few mins from our home. The sun is probably high in the sky in Kalk Bay now.
