Argus Cycle Race 2010

Argus Cycle Race 2010

No wind on Boyes Drive St James

On the 14th March Boyes Drive was closed for 5 hours for the Argus Cycle Race.  I invited my friends on our private road off Boyes Drive to a bring and share breakfast.  On the skottel we cooked, sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms.

It was again a very windy day and many cyclists did not finish the 109 km. In St James and Kalk Bay there was very little wind.  See no one is holding on to their hats!!!

There were 38 000 entries.  It is a big event in the Calendar for Cape Town.  We all have friends and family cycling.  We encourage  our friends as they passed. The gale force wind was as bad as 2009.  The medals this year cannot have 2010 on them because FIFA Soccer owns 2010 but I wonder why they did not use MMX on the medals instead?

Downhill after the steep climb up Boyes Drive.
